RedactRight.

Coming soon · Built for GDPR

The PDF redaction tool that actually removes the text.

Most free online “redaction” tools overlay a black box — the underlying text is still in the file and copy-pasteable. RedactRight modifies the PDF content stream so redacted information is genuinely gone, and produces a signed audit log of every redaction for GDPR accountability.

Black box overlays leak data.

Open a “redacted” PDF in Acrobat, drag-select the black area, copy. The original text is right there. This has caused real public breaches — court filings, internal investigations, journalist source disclosures. Every time it happens, someone says “I thought we redacted it.”

True redaction means the bytes are gone from the PDF content stream. We use the same technique Adobe Acrobat Pro does — packaged in a workflow that takes 30 seconds instead of 10 minutes, and gives you a signed audit log you can hand to a regulator.

What we’re building

  • True content-stream redaction

Text is removed from the PDF, not visually masked. Round-trip verification on every job.

  • Auto-detect PII before you start

Names, emails, phone numbers, IBAN, IDs, addresses — highlighted automatically. Approve or adjust per category.

  • Tamper-evident audit log

Every redaction signed with your workspace’s Ed25519 key. Verifiable by regulators offline.

FAQ

Will it really be GDPR-compliant by default?
Yes — and that’s the entire point. Data stays in the EU (Frankfurt). Originals are deleted within seconds of redaction. Audit logs are tamper-evident and exportable. Your DPA is a one-click signature.
When does it launch?
Public launch is planned for August 2026. Waitlist members get an invite to the private alpha in late June and a 50 % off first-month code at public launch.
Who’s building this?
